Liverpool are interested in signing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze to strengthen their attacking options, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Roruke revealed that the Reds have joined Newcastle and Tottenham in the race to sign the 26-year-old attacking midfielder.

Eze's £68million release clause will become available in the summer of 2025, but with just two years left on his deal at that stage, clubs are eyeing a cut-price deal.

Sources say that offers between £50-60million could tempt Palace into selling as they look to make a huge profit on the England international.

However, as shown by chairman Steve Parish's negotiations with Newcastle over a deal for Marc Guehi in the summer, the Eagles will not be bullied into a cheap sale.

Meanwhile, it is said that the Eagles are reluctant to entertain offers for any of their star players in the January transfer window.

Parish spoke about the interest in Eze after the summer window as he admitted to Sky Sports that he was “astounded” by the lack of an official offer.

The transfer window saw clubs prioritising other positions ahead of the attacking midfield spot, but interest in Palace's England international remains strong.

Liverpool are expected to address their lack of depth in midfield in January, with a new deep-lying midfielder at the top of their list, before they turn their attention to Eze.

Guehi, another of the Eagles' most valuable players, has also been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in 2025 as they search for a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.

After a slow start to the season at Selhurst Park which has seen Oliver Glasner's side fail to win any of their opening six Premier League games, sources say the midfielder is seeking a new challenge.
