The Premier League club are poised to discuss extensions with Jones and Young in the summer after receiving early indications they want to stay at Old Trafford. Manager Louis van Gaal is keen for the pair, whose deals have just over a year remaining, to follow Chris Smalling and sign long-term contracts. But United do not share the same confidence that De Gea will commit to a new agreement this summer. The versatile England international is developing an increasingly authoritative centre-back partnership with Smalling, 25, who signed a new contract earlier this week that runs until 2019. Young, who has thrived on the left side of the United midfield after being used as a wing-back earlier in the campaign, is expected to be offered a shorter deal as he turns 30 in July.
