Pundit Exclusive: Celtic 23-yr-old tipped to quit in 2021 after £4.5million reveal

Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Frank McAvennie has tipped Greg Taylor to leave Celtic in 2021 in search of regular first team football.

The Parkhead legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, fears the 23-year-old will not be afforded much game time if the club sign Diego Laxalt permanently.

Since the arrival of Laxalt in October, Taylor has played just 19 minutes of football across all competitions and is yet to start.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims Celtic may open talks over the permanent signing of Laxalt when the Glasgow giants travel AC Milan, the player's parent club, on 3 December.

When asked by Football Insider if he expected the permanent signing of Laxalt to force Taylor out of the club, McAvennie said:

"Greg Taylor will be at Celtic until the end of this season, that is for sure.

"He is needed in case anything happens to Laxalt.

"But for Greg, if he wants a game and Laxalt signs permanently he will need to move.

"It is important for his Scotland future that he does. He needs game time and Celtic are already out of the Europa League so it will not come there."

Taylor has been capped four times by Scotland and will presumably be desperate to be part of Steve Clarke's squad for next summer's European Championship.

The left back's 14 appearances across all competitions this season have yielded one goal and four assists.
