Rangers are potentially open to selling 22-goal striker Cyriel Dessers this summer if they secure a fee of around £5million.

That is according to Football Insider journalist and Scottish expert Daniel Bowers, speaking to Football Insider's Inside Track podcast.

The 29-year-old could however move on this summer, with the Gers set to demand a considerable fee with the £4.2m figure they spent on him in 2023 kept in mind.

Dessers, who has scored 22 in 54 for Rangers and has six Nigeria caps, is under contract in Glasgow until 2027.

Rangers could cash in on Dessers

Whilst Rangers are undergoing a major squad overhaul in order to attempt to topple Celtic, now would likely be the time in which Dessers would command the most cash for the Gers.

However, Bowers believes the striker has rekindled his career in Scotland after a frustrating start, notching 22 times despite missing some crucial chances throughout the season.

Rangers would accept an offer of around £5m for Dessers and then reinvest that money into Philippe Clement's side.

Nova Sports reported [26 June] that Dessers is a target for Greek club PAOK, and that Rangers are content with the fee being mooted.

The club must also be aware of potential costs towards borrowing a new stadium for a short period whilst delayed redevelopments take place at Ibrox.
