Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson has finalised a transfer to Leeds, according to a report.

Antonsson has been strongly linked with a move to the Championship club in the last 48 hours after impressing for Kalmar in the Swedish top flight.

Reports in Sweden on Tuesday had claimed that Antonsson had passed a Leeds medical and agreed a three-year deal.

Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay claimed on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon that the second-tier club had confirmed that the transfer was "fully agreed".

Hay reported that the fee Leeds will pay will rise to £2million.

Antonsson becomes the first signing of new manager Garry Monk, with Swedish website Fotbollskanalen claiming the Yorkshire giants have beaten Aston Villa and Cardiff to land the goal-a-game front man.

The striker has scored 13 goals in 18 appearances for the Scandinavian club, including an impressive 10 strikes in 12 league matches.

Antonsson, 25, joined Kalmar last year on a free transfer and has a deal that runs until 2018.

Kalmar president Mattias Rosenlund confirmed last weekend the club were in discussions with an unnamed team over a deal for Antonsson.

"We are in agreement with a club," Rosenlund said. "He will undergo a medical on Monday to check that nothing interferes with the process.

"That is what we are waiting for at the moment."
