Qatar are growing in confidence that they will win the Man United takeover race, sources have told Football Insider.

Sheikh Jassim submitted a final take-it-or-leave-it bid worth around £5.5billion in an attempt to beat Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS bid.

Sources have told Football Insider that the Qatar bidders are now ‘very confident’ that the Glazers are leaning towards a full sale this summer.

Man United stock market prices have soared in the past week amid reports from Qatar that a takeover is imminent.

As reported by Football Insider on Wednesday (14 June), Man United’s stock market value rose over 20 per cent in 48 hours.

The Qatar bid is for 100 per cent of the club and promises to remove all debt accrued by the Glazers as well as guarantee funds to invest in infrastructure and stadium renovations.

On top of the stock market fluctuation, a new business was filed in the UK on Thursday (15 June) that named Sheikh Jassim as a director.

As per a Companies House submission, ‘Nine Two UK Holdings Limited’ was listed as an official company, with Jassim one of two directors named in the documents.

It is understood that the business creation is a step taken by the Qatar bidders in anticipation of a takeover being completed.

It is unlikely that the Glazers will grant exclusivity to either INEOS or Qatar at this late point of the takeover process, with both parties preparing for the possibility of winning the race.
