Brighton have beaten West Ham to the signing of Slavia Prague striker Abdallah Sima, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Seagulls have had a £7million bid accepted by the Czech club for the forward sensation.

A Brighton source has told Football Insider that Sima is set to sign by tomorrow’s deadline.

He could then be loaned straight back out as they see the 20-year-old as one for the future.

West Ham have also had a strong interest in Sima this summer but Brighton have moved to seal a late deal.

Sima enjoyed an outstanding 2020-21 season.

The forward bagged 20 goals in 39 total appearances as his side won the Fortuna Liga and reached the late stages of the Europa League.

He also popped up with the winner in the final as Slavia won the MOL Cup.

Sima is a product of the Slavia academy and made his debut against 1. FC Slovácko on 26 September 2020.

He also made his debut for Senegal on 26 March this year in an AFCON 2021 qualifier against Congo.

West Ham have been looking for a new striker after selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January.

Michail Antonio has enjoyed an outstanding start to the season but has been troubled by injury during his time at the club.

Brighton currently sit eighth in the Premier League after winning two of their opening games.

Neal Maupay has scored two in three so far this season after he struggled in front of goal last year.
