Sources: Celtic in line for £20m as new details emerge from Edouard transfer
Celtic could eventually net £20million from the sale of Odsonne Edouard to Crystal Palace, Football Insider understands.
The Premier League club announced the capture of the French striker last night just as the transfer window shut.
A Celtic source has told Football Insider that Palace have paid an initial £15m for Edouard but the fee could rise to £20m with add-ons.
However, the Glasgow giants will have to hand some of the fee to Edouard's former club Paris Saint-Germain.
As part of the deal that made the forward Celtic's record signing in 2018 - a year after he initially joined on loan - the French giants are due 30 per cent of the profits made from the sale thanks to a sell-on clause.
It means a healthy profit for the Parkhead outfit but less than they made from the sales of Kieran Trippier and Moussa Dembele.
Edouard's departure freed up space for Celtic to bring in a new striker, with Giorgos Giakoumakis arriving on deadline day as one of three new captures.
He will compete for a starting spot with Kyogo Furuhashi, who has made such an impact since his arrival.
At Palace, Edouard has signed a four-year contract with the option of a fifth year.
He knocked back multiple offers of a new Celtic contract to achieve his dream of a move to the Premier League.
The striker was closely pursued by a series of top-flight clubs this summer but the likes of Leicester City and West Ham were put off by the asking price as well as his wage demands.
