Liverpool are understood to have made a breakthrough in talks with Nike over an extension to their kit deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The Reds have been partnered with the US-based sports brand since 2019, but their current kit manufacturer deal is set to expire next year.

Their current agreement is unique, with Liverpool earning a much larger commission percentage compared to the Premier League average.

The Merseyside club earn a flat fee of £30million per year, but their increased commission means they earn around 20 percent of all proceeds from branded merchandise.

Overall, the value of the deal is estimated to be worth around £70million per year.

It is understood that the Reds will continue their increased commission rate with Nike merchandise under the renewed terms.

The average merchandise commission for Premier League sides sits at just three-to-four percent.

The renewal agreement will take Liverpool closer in value to the record-breaking Adidas deal struck by Manchester United in 2023.

Liverpool

The Red Devils signed a 10-year deal with the German sports brand worth a Premier League record £900million.

Liverpool will remain as one of four Premier League sides to be partnered with Nike alongside, Chelsea, Brighton and Tottenham.
