Mohamed Diomande is heading to Rangers to undergo a medical after agreeing terms with the club, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gers have had a near-£5millionbid accepted by Danish side FC Nordsjaelland to bring the midfielder to Ibrox this month.

He was expected to arrive at Glasgow Airport on Monday night before heading to the club to undergo medical tests, but his flight was delayed due to Storm Isha.

It is believed that the deal is not in jeopardy and his move is expected to be completed in the next 48 hours.

He is set to become Philippe Clement's second January addition following the signing of Wolves ace Fabio Silva on loan earlier this month.

Diomande has made 21 appearances for the Danish top-flight side across all competitions this season, notching five assists.

The 22-year-old moved to Nordsjaelland in 2020 through Ghana's Right To Dream Academy system but is now expected to move to his second-ever senior club.

He has made 111 appearances for Nordsjaelland in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 14 assists.

The central midfielder has earned rave reviews for his performances domestically and in the Europa Conference League this season.

Rangers are expected to be busy this month and are looking to offload further players to finance further recruitment.

Sources also told Football Insider (16 January) that they are working on a deal to sign a second forward this month.
