Tottenham are willing to selling Juan Foyth for £8million as transfer fees prepare to tumble this summer, Football Insider understands.

This site revealed last week the Londoners are set to listen to offers for the Argentina international defender, 22, in the next transfer window.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider the club are hopeful of recouping the £8m fee they paid for Foyth three years ago in what is expected to be a dramatically altered market.

The club would otherwise have expected to make a major profit on Foyth, much as they did with another rarely used young centre-back, Kevin Wimmer, a few years ago.

The Argentine has made little impression since Jose Mourinho took over and has seen the likes of home-grown youngster Japhet Tanganga leapfrog him in the pecking order.

Tottenham had high hopes for Foyth when he was signed in the summer of 2017.

He has gone on to earn 10 senior Argentina caps while at the club but has made just 32 appearances for the Londoners in three seasons.

He pushed for a loan or permanent move in January but that was denied by Mourinho as he wanted all senior stars to stay.

Foyth is now set to be granted his wish of a move as the club prepare to continue the significant overhaul begun last summer and continued in January.

The centre-back, who can also fill in at right-back, has made just seven appearances this season.

Tellingly, he has not made a single matchday squad since the turn of the year, even when Mourinho played a weakened side in the FA Cup.
