West Ham are finalising a £17million deadline-day deal for Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral, Football Insider has learned.

The Irons are hopeful of adding to the captures of playmaker Nikola Vlasic and Kurt Zouma with the signing of Kral by tonight.

A West Ham source has told Football Insider that the club are in advanced talks to land the 23-year-old on a loan-to-buy deal.

The option to buy is expected to be worth £17m and will be dependent upon performances this season.

Kral would be the third Czech international the Hammers have signed in the last 18 months.

Tomas Soucek signed, initially on loan, in January 2020 while Vladimir Coufal joined last summer.

As well as being international teammates, the trio also played together at Slavia Prague.

Kral signed for Spartak Moscow from Slavia two years ago and has played 60 times across all competitions for the Russian outfit.

A more defensive-minded midfielder, the Slovakia-born ace will provide cover and competition for Soucek and Declan Rice.

Kral has three years left to run on his Spartak contract and has been capped 22 times by his country.
