Tottenham have "a ready-made replacement" for Tanguy Ndombele in Pape Matar Sarr, according to Paul Robinson.

The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said Sarr, 19, looks "a very exciting" player who "will fit the mould" for Antonio Conte's side.

According to Sky Sports (10 January), Spurs have held talks over Ndombele’s future and are open to offers for him this month.

It comes after the French midfielder was booed off by his own fans in Sunday's 3-1 win over Morecambe.

The £63million signing has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract in north London.

Robinson believes Sarr, who joined in a deal worth up to £28million last August and is currently on loan at FC Metz, is capable of replacing Ndombele next season.

"Pape Matar Sarr looks very exciting and in him Spurs have a ready-made replacement for Ndombele should he leave," he told Football Insider's Dylan Childs.

"He's out on loan getting valuable experience this season. He looks like a player who will fit the mould for Spurs. I think Conte will give him a chance to impress in pre-season.

"Conte will be given money to spend though, especially if Ndombele is sold. He will mould the squad in the way that he wants and that could mean another centre-midfielder coming in.

"I expect there to be a few interesting transfers at Spurs this month. If Ndombele goes it will give the manager even more money to play with."
