Tottenham takeover: Kieran Maguire shares verdict on Daniel Levy quitting for good

Daniel Levy is "not finished" at Tottenham and would prefer a minority investment deal similar to those seen at Liverpool and Manchester United.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Levy will be eager to keep his position of chairman if Tottenham do agree an investment deal.

Tottenham published their 2022-23 accounts on Wednesday (3 April) revealing a club-record turnover of £550million but an overall loss of £87million.

Within the accounts, Levy published a chairman's statement revealing that the club are "in discussions with prospective investors".

As revealed by Football Insider, Qatar are unlikely to reignite interest in a Spurs takeover unless it is for a majority stake in the club.

Maguire believes Spurs will prefer a minority investment similar to deals struck by the Glazers and FSG at Man United and Liverpool.

"I don’t think Daniel Levy has finished with Spurs," Maguire told Football Insider's Sean Fisher.

"He has put so much of his life and energy into the Spurs project to get the club to where it is today and to have the best stadium in the country.

"He will want to be the chairman when they lift their next major trophy, so an investment or takeover would depend upon his position.

"You can see the benefits of Spurs doing similar to what we've seen at Liverpool when FSG sold 10 percent of the club for £300million.

"Man United did similar with the Glazers selling to Ratcliffe for £1.2billion."
