Alan Hutton has claimed Tottenham will have to "cut their losses" on Tanguy Ndombele.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs defender said Ndombele, 25, has "not been good enough" for the London club.

According to French outlet MediaFoot (23 July), Galatasaray have been tracking the French international.

The midfielder joined Spurs in 2019 from Olympique Lyon for a club record fee of £54million.

He currently has three years remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with his former club.

When asked how much Antonio Conte's side would be willing to let Ndombele leave for, Hutton told Football Insider: "There's no getting away from it they're going to have to cut their losses.

"They've tried with him, tried to get him fitter and we've seen flashes of brilliance but he's just not been good enough.

"They paid a lot of money for him, it was a record fee for Tottenham. I don't think they're going to get anywhere near that for him at this moment in time.

"If they got £25m I think they'd probably just have to take it. He's got big wages, he's on a long-term contract, he won't leave unless he gets what he wants.

"So they're really stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment with Ndombele at the moment so anything they got I think they'd take."
