Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Jerry Jones would be a "perfect fit" for new investment in Tottenham.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted he and Daniel Levy would be a "powerhouse" if they became partners at Spurs.

Jones was recently spotted in London, fueling speculation that he could be interested in a Tottenham takeover on X (3 December).

The US businessman has a net worth of around £12billion, with his investment in NFL franchise Dallas Cowboys the jewel in his crown.

ENIC and Spurs chairman Levy are on the hunt for fresh investment, with a report in The Times (27 July) claiming they are looking to sell around 10% of the club.

Jones and Levy would be 'powerhouse' at Tottenham, says Wyness

When asked about a potential Jones takeover, Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I don’t know anything about the connection.

“But when I heard the rumour, I thought it was a perfect fit. The Dallas Cowboys and Spurs, both promise so much and never manage to deliver.

“Jerry Jones would be a classic owner. The NFL connection would make sense, and he’s got the ability to buy at the £4billion level - which we think Daniel Levy is holding out for.

“It’s the first one I’ve heard that makes real sense from a football and sporting point of view.

“I think he and Levy would get on like a house on fire in terms of their ambition, they’re very complementary.

“I’d be interested to see it because I think they’d be a powerhouse if they got together, commercially.”
