Report: West Ham poised to table £1.3m-a-year offer for highly-rated midfielder
West Ham want to tie Declan Rice down on a new long-term deal after the highly-rated 19-year-old has impressed this season, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claim that West Ham want to increase his wages from around £10k-a-week to around £25k-a-week, with his current contract set to end in the summer of 2019.
He has made 23 appearances for West Ham this season, including 17 in the Premier League and the club see him as a future mainstay for the side.
The versatile player, who has featured in midfielder as well as in defence for West Ham this season, has come up through the youth ranks after switching from Chelsea in 2014.

This is a good move at the right time for West Ham. Declan Rice has already proved himself at West Ham, with performances beyond his young age. Doubling his wages and increasing his contract length comes at the right time, with West Ham still potentially facing a drawn out relegation battle between now and May. Rice is highly-rated at the club and beyond and it will provide a huge boost if the youngster does commit for the future.
