West Ham tipped for £100m-plus windfall after Declan Rice transfer update - pundit
Paul Robinson has claimed West Ham can get £100million-plus for Declan Rice next summer even if the club's struggles continue this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England goalkeeper suggested Rice would maintain his value even if he has an indifferent campaign personally.
According to Claret and Hugh (20 September), the Hammers are ready to entertain offers for their prize asset.
Rice's current contract expires at the end of June 2024, although there is a 12-month extension clause.
As reported by the The Telegraph (1 April), Irons boss David Moyes has previously stated it will take a bid of at least £150million to sign the England international.
When asked by Football Insider if form and length of contract will cause Rice's value to depreciate, Robinson said: "I don't think so.
"Age is on his side so I think West Ham can still get north of £100million for him. He is an established international at the age of 23.
"Yes, he is not at his best right now but he is playing in a poor West Ham side. They are struggling for results and performances at the moment.
"I do not think an indifferent 12 months will effect his value. I think they will still get a top fee for him because he will be a big part of England's World Cup squad.
"He has enough credit in the bank to hold his England place and command the same transfer fee come the end of the season."
