Wolves join Tottenham in hunt to sign £25m-rated PL player earning £80,000-a-wk - report
Wolves have joined the hunt to sign Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report.
The Express claims that Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also monitoring Bertrand, 28, with the Saints set to cash in on the 19-times England international if they are relegated from the Premier League.
It is understood that Bertrand is valued at £25million and earns £80,000-a-week in his deal at Southampton, which still has another three years left to run on it.
The report adds that the former Chelsea left-back is "almost certain" to leave St Mary's if they fail to avoid the drop.

Southampton are going to be torn apart in the summer if they are relegated from the Premier League. Both them, Stoke and West Brom have squads full of Premier League players and with all three likely to suffer shock drops to the Championship, there's a lot of players that Wolves could sign as they prepare for life back in the top-flight. Do Wolves need Bertrand though? Barry Douglas has been phenomenal in his debut campaign at Molineux and is arguably one of Nuno Espirito Santo's best players. Signing Bertrand would mean that Douglas would lose his first-team place, which would be very unfair. Tottenham on the other hand may need him with Danny Rose likely to be sold. Wolves will be more willing to splash the cash though than tight-fisted Daniel Levy.
