Wolves will have to pay around £10million to land top defender target Jake Clarke-Salter from Queens Park Rangers, sources have told Football Insider.

West Ham signed Kilman for a reported fee of £40million, leaving the Midlands club with the funds to replace the Englishman.

It is believed QPR will drive a hard bargain star defender Clarke-Salter, but are unlikely to stand in his way.

Sources say the London club are aware it will be tough to talk him out of a potential move to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old started his career with Chelsea but made just one appearance in the English top flight during his years as a senior player at the club.

But it is now believed Clarke-Salter is one of several names on the list at Molineux as Wolves bid to replace Kilman - and QPR are bracing for offers in the coming days and weeks.

He made 33 appearances across all competitions last term, starting in 29 of those outings.

The star defender also spent time on loan at Coventry, Birmingham, Vitesse, Sunderland and Bristol Rovers prior to his permanent Chelsea exit in 2022.

Clarke-Salter is under contract at Loftus Road until June 2026.
