Insider: Star attacker out for lunchtime clash in five Klopp changes for Liverpool v Stoke
Jurgen Klopp will make five changes to the side that beat Roma 5-2 on Tuesday night, according to an Insider.
Sadio Mane doesn’t make it after reportedly being spotted limping at hospital after the Roma clash.
He’s replaced by Danny Ings, who scored his first goal of the season against West Brom last weekend.
Joe Gomez, Ragnar Klavan and Alberto Moreno come into the side, suggesting Klopp will play a back-three, and Georginio Wijnaldum replaces the injured Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The team news was announced on the Anfield Express Twitter account, a solid source of Liverpool news.
Karius, Trent, Gomez, Van Dijk, Klavan, Moreno, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Ings.

The injury to Oxlade-Chamberlain was devastating to Liverpool and to the player on a personal level. Liverpool fans have now also got cause for concern over Sadio Mane ahead of the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. The same Twitter account has said that he’s not out for the season which means he could be back for the run-in and the final – if Liverpool go ahead and progress past Roma as expected. Today’s game should be a relatively straightforward affair, but we would have said the same thing about the West Brom clash – especially when Liverpool were 2-0 up. Three points today would all but confirm the top-four spot for Liverpool.
