Calm down Sam they've gone: The five worst Everton signings in the Premier League
Everton fans might think that their club has made some pretty disastrous signings in the past 12 months.
But we're here to provide them wth some relief.
None of them are quite as bad as these five, which we've quite happily dubbed the five worst deals Everton have made in their Premier League days.
5. Marco Materazzi
Materazzi has won the World Cup, the Champions League and the Serie A title five times – what's he doing here?
Well Materazzi didn't work out at all for Everton after he joined from Perugia in 1998 for £2.7million.
The enforcer only made 27 appearances and was more noted for his poor discipline than anything else.
"Materazzi got booked 12 times and sent off three times during his season at Everton so it all turned out a bit chaotic for him and everyone else," said Barry Horne in the Guardian.
He seemed incapable of playing in England although Everton did turn a profit of £1million when they sold him back to Perugia in 1999.

4. James Beattie
Beattie had broken through into the England team in 2003 when he was impressing for Southampton.
Two years later, at the age of 27, he joined Everton for £8million but started to sink without a trace almost immediately.
He never played for England again and although he made 82 appearances for Everton over his two-and-a-half years, a load of these were from the bench.
He was sold to Sheffield United in 2007 after failing to live up to expectations.

3. Li Weifeng
Weifeng would go onto make 112 appearances for China, scoring 14 goals from his centre-back position.
But he only played two games for Everton and seemingly only joined as part of the sponsorship deal the club had signed with electronics firm Keijan.
He left without a trace a year later in what must be one of the most bizarre transfers Everton ever made.

2. Alex Nyarko
Oh dear. Nyarko arrived for £5.7million from Lens in July 2000 and fans were immediately suspicious.
Thye thought Everton had overpaid and it turned out they were right as Nyarko went on to make just 33 appearances for the club.
It didn't end well as Nyarko was confronted by an Everton fan who ran onto the pitch to tell him what the manager hadn't – that he was rubbish.
He didn't play for Everton again and was shifted on a free transfer to Norwegian club Start in 2005.

1. Per Kroldrup
Not just the worst signing for Everton in the Premier League, Koldrup might have a shot at making the top 10 worst Premier League deals for any club.
He signed from Udiense in 2005 on a four-year deal for a chunky transfer fee back then of £5million.
Before he played a game he got injured and had to undergo surgery.
He finally made his debut around six months after joining the club in a disastrous 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
And that was it. He cost Everton £5million a game as he admitted he was completely incapable of adapting to the pace of the Premier League.
He was sold a month after his debut and amazingly Everton managed to recoup £3.6million as they offloaded him to Fiorentina where he made 146 appearances.
