Celtic £3m flop in advanced talks to join Dutch club - report

Derk Boerrigter is belatedly set to end his search for a new club months after being released by Celtic, according to a report.
The former Ajax attacker is set to sign for Dutch outfit Roda JC and team up with Wales international Simon Church, who once had a loan spell with Aberdeen.
The Scottish Sun claim that Boerrigter is currently in talks to end his search for a new home, after he was told his contract was to be terminated by the 47-time Scottish Champions in April.
Once nicknamed ‘the eliminator’ by former Hoops boss Neil Lennon, Boerrigter was brought to Celtic Park for a hefty fee believed to be around £3million back in 2013 after an impressive stint with Dutch giants Ajax.
However, just one goal in 25 league and cup appearances for the Scottish giants saw Boerrigter’s contract ripped up, after three injury-plagued years in Glasgow.
Roda JC are currently struggling at the bottom of the Eredivisie and will be hoping that the 29-year-old forward can spark some life into their dismal start, that has seen them fail to win in eight league games.
In spark contrast, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic are flying high after an unbeaten start to the league that has seen them go four points clear, and an impressive 3-3 draw against Manchester City has kick started their Champions League campaign.
