Four Arsenal stars expected to follow Bernd Leno out the exit door after confirmed news - Campbell

Kevin Campbell expects Pablo Mari and Hector Bellerin to follow Bernd Leno out the door permanently at Arsenal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker also suggested Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles would leave the club on loan before the window shuts.

On Tuesday (2 August), Arsenal announced that Leno has left the club to join London rivals Fulham.

According to Sky Sports (4 August), the Cottagers agreed a fee of £8million for the German goalkeeper.

Leno is the fourth player to depart the Emirates permanently this summer – Alexandre Lacazette, Matteo Guendouzi and Konstantinos Mavropanos the others.

When asked by Football Insider who else would likely leave the club before the transfer window shuts, Campbell said: “I expect Mari and Bellerin to leave as well.

“Bellerin has been a good servant but there is no point keeping him when his time is up.

“[William] Saliba wants his number two shirt as well. It is one of those things. It has to happen.

“Maitland-Niles is one I’m not sure on. It might be a loan move for him. Reiss Nelson might also have to leave on loan. He has looked alright in pre-season but the standards and levels at Arsenal are going up.

“You cannot carry dead wood. Some of these guys might be used as squad players and may well be the Hale End boys.”

In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed Arsenal could exploit a ‘massive’ untapped market as a ‘critical’ new deal is announced.
