Frank de Boer believes Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen has the quality required to play for Spanish giants Barcelona.
The Danish playmaker has been in sublime form for Spurs this season, scoring 11 goals as well as supplying 20 assists during his 41 league and cup encounters for the north London giants.
Speaking to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, former Barcelona star de Boer believes Eriksen has everything that a Barcelona player must have to prove successful at the Nou Camp.
“I think he can have a wonderful career,” de Boer said. “First Ajax, then Tottenham and then the highest level.
“I think he’s ready for a step higher. He has all that a Barcelona player must have. He has an overview, he has a working ethic, and he kicks well with both legs.”

Former Inter Milan and Ajax manager de Boer worked with Eriksen in Ajax’s youth set-up, during his three-year spell between 2007 and 2010 as a coach with the Dutch giants.
Eriksen broke into Ajax’s first team after working with de Boer, quickly becoming his side’s creative driving force with 65 assists and 32 goals in 163 appearances for the Dutch side.
His form earned him a move to Tottenham in the summer of 2013, where he has since made 174 appearances and had a hand in 94 goals.
Eriksen will look to score his 42nd goal for the north London giants on Wednesday night as Spurs look to secure a 22nd league win over Crystal Palace.
With Chelsea remaining four points above Spurs at the top of the Premier League, Spurs will be looking for Southampton to do them favour against Antonio Conte’s side on Tuesday night.
