Marco Silva has been handed some very unwanted news during the international break as Fulham's struggles are only exacerbated.

Football Insider understands that Fulham are keen to give Silva a new contract to silence any talk of the Portuguese figure being sacked this season, even with the Cottagers sitting 15th in the Premier League.

Antonee Robinson's injury has already weakened the team, with Sasa Lukic now suspended for the upcoming clash with Sunderland after picking up his fifth yellow card of the campaign.

Raul Jimenez has only just returned from injury himself, so Silva is running out of options for the centre-forward spot, and the manager has another issue to contend with once Premier League football returns.

Rodrigo Muniz ruled out with injury for weeks

Fulham have confirmed that striker Rodrigo Muniz will require surgery on his hamstring in the coming days after picking up another hamstring injury at Craven Cottage.

The 24-year-old came on against Everton, replacing Jimenez after 58 minutes, before having to be replaced just 17 minutes later, heading straight down the tunnel with the medical staff.

Supporters now understand that the decision was not tactical and that the striker will now be unavailable for quite some time, undergoing surgery to fix the issue.

The Cottagers will be desperate for a response against the Black Cats once Premier League football resumes, having only avoided defeat in two of their last seven games across all competitions.

All games the Fulham striker is likely to miss

With Muniz's injury blow now confirmed, here are the matches that the player is likely to miss.

  • 22 November: Premier League, Sunderland (H)
  • 29 November: Premier League, Tottenham (A)

December

  • 2 December: Premier League, Man City (H)
