Brendan Rodgers is of interest to Fulham amid major doubts over Marco Silva's future, sources have told Football Insider.

Silva has been offered a new contract at Fulham, with the manager's current deal running out at the end of the season.

Rodgers resigned as manager of Celtic in October in his second spell at the club, and is currently out of work. He will be sounded out by Fulham about potentially succeeding the long-standing Portugese.

Fulham want to keep Silva at the club, but their current form also means the 48-year-old could be sacked if there is not an upturn in results.

The West London club are currently 15th in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone.

Stumbling block in Marco Silva or Brendan Rodgers deal

Rodgers was frustrated about Celtic's lack of transfer business in the summer, and the 52-year-old may have similar issues at Fulham.

Fulham had a quiet transfer window, with the club making just one major signing in the form of winger Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Silva was eager to add more quality to his squad, but the club were reluctant to spend in what may be why they are currently struggling at the wrong end of the table.

For Silva to sign a new contract he may require assurances that Fulham will support him in the transfer market.

Fulham have immediate problem to solve

One immediate issue either Silva or Rodgers will have to address at Fulham is the side's lack of goals.

Rodrigo Muniz has suffered a hamstring injury leaving them short of options up-front, with Raul Jimenez the only natural alternative.

Adama Traore has been forced to become a make shit striker at times this season, in what is not a solution for the long-term.
