Fulham: Insider reveals truth after leaked images fuel Raul Jimenez transfer speculation
Fulham striker Raul Jimenez’s future remains uncertain this summer as he has yet to sign a new contract at Craven Cottage.
The 35-year-old has spent the past three seasons at Fulham, but his current deal is set to expire at the end of the month.
Jimenez could join manager Marco Silva by leaving the club, with the 48-year-old having already confirmed he will be departing.
It is therefore expected to be a summer of change in west London, with top scorer Harry Wilson also looking likely to leave when his contract expires.
Losing Jimenez would leave Fulham’s next manager in need of a new striker, with Rodrigo Muniz the only other natural number nine at the club.
Raul Jimenez ‘fake’ images emerge at Wolves
Jimenez has been linked with a return to his former club Wolves, who will play in the Championship next season following their relegation from the Premier League.
Images emerged online of Jimenez at Molineux, having pictures taken by club photographers in a Wolves kit.
Wolves correspondent at the Express and Star, Liam Keen, posted on X to make fans aware that the pictures circulating on social media were “fake.”
Keen added: “Wolves have had discussions with Raul Jimenez over a return to the club, as we reported previously, and the player is due to make a decision on his future this summer.”
The Mexico international made over 100 appearances for Wolves during his first spell at the club, and helped them reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League in the 2019-20 season.
Who could become Fulham’s next manager?
Fulham’s next manager could have an impact on whether Jimenez decides to sign a new contract at Craven Cottage.
As Football Insider reported, Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna is among the favourites to replace Silva at Fulham this summer.
Meanwhile, former Tottenham manager Thomas Frank and current Coventry boss Frank Lampard are also in the running for the job, with the former currently out of work.
Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is another contender, but Fulham will not rush into any appointment with the summer transfer window having not yet opened.
