Stan Collymore has vented his anger on Twitter at the amount of money Aston Villa have spent in the past seven months.
The former Premier League striker delivered a no-holds-barred assessment of the Championship team and the “obscene” money they could possibly spend on Scott Hogan.
Sky Sports News journalist Kaveh Solhekol has revealed on Twitter that Villa have made the biggest transfer statement of the January window yet by winning the race for the 24-year-old forward.
Solhekol reports that the Midlands giants will pay £15million for the Hogan and that the player is headed to Villa Park for a deadline-day medical.

Since Villa’s relegation last summer, the Midlands giants have purchased 14 players, with the possibility that they could have spent over £70million in the past seven months when the window slams shut on Tuesday night.
All of this seems to have made the former Villa man Collymore fume on Twitter as he posted this message on his personal account.
“£15million for Hogan, if numbers are correct, is ******* obscene,” said Collymore. “I’m massively concerned about the general overspend in the last seven months.”
Despite all that spending, Villa still sit nine points away from the top six as their Championship season has stumbled.
In October, they sacked Italian Roberto Di Matteo and replaced him with promotion expert Steve Bruce.
The former Hull City manager helped revived the club for a few months, but they have since fallen back down the table as he aims to finish in the top six.
They take on Brentford on Tuesday night at Griffin Park in an important Championship clash, with the possibility that the club’s five January signings could feature.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, Stan Collymore has also vented his anger towards owner Tony Xia.
