Gareth Bale has delivered the biggest compliment yet to Mousa Dembele by claiming he is so good on the ball “he can keep it for years”.
The Real Madrid superstar hailed unsung Spurs ace Dembele as he spoke about the Belgian players at White Hart Lane.
The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have been widely hailed for Tottenham’s transformation into a team to be reckoned with.
But Bale made a huge statement about the technical excellence of central midfield powerhouse Dembele in a ringing endorsement of his calibre.
“To see Dembele as a key member of Spurs’ squad is fantastic,” Bale told Belgium publication La Libre. “He’s in great shape. Tottenham play better when he’s in form. It’s incredibly hard to get the ball off him. Once he has his body between you and the ball, he can keep it for years”.

The comment from former Spurs icon Bale demonstrates the immense respect in which Dembele is held by the game’s leading players.
The 29-year-old has been a key member of Mauricio Pochettino’s young and vibrant side, forming an impressive partnership in central midfield with Victor Wanyama this season.
The Belgian is yet to score a Premier League goal this season but his technique, power and ability to win the ball and create the team’s play has been integral to their climb to second in the table.
Spurs are in outstanding form following six consecutive victories in the competition and have narrowed the gap at the top to seven points.
Bale developed from a left-back into a world-beating attacking player at White Hart Lane and was exceptional in his final two seasons before joining Real for £86million in 2013.
Bale has taken his game to new heights in Madrid, where he has been an integral member of a team that has won two European Cups.
In other Tottenham news, the club have terminated the contract of one of their defenders.
