Gary Lineker sends humorous warning message to Tottenham star on Twitter

By Harvey Byrne

Gary Lineker has humorously warned Tottenham star Harry Kane to “watch out” on Twitter after an image was doctored of him joining the club on the anniversary of his initial signing.

The now 56-year-old popular football pundit made the switch to north London from Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer of 1989 for a fee of £1.1million.

Wednesday, June 21 2017 marked the 28th anniversary since Lineker’s signing and this brought a humorous exchange between the England legend and current Tottenham star Kane on Twitter.

Lineker first of all posted Kane an image sent to him from UniBet with a picture of himself signing a contract alongside Mauricio Pochettino with the caption: “Watch out” with Kane’s Twitter handle tagged.

This then brought a response from Kane stating that he was a fan of the idea, but that he was to keep the famous number 10 shirt.

Lineker then agreed that Kane could keep the shirt before stating that he would have the six-yard box in return.

Both Lineker and Kane share fine records in front of goal for Tottenham with the former netting 67 times in 105 appearances for Spurs, while Kane is currently on a run of 99 goals in 165 encounters.

Lineker also helped the north London club to lift the FA Cup trophy in 1991 and Kane himself will now be hoping that his goals can help Tottenham go one better with the Premier League title.
