Wijnaldum sends message to Liverpool fans after victory v Burnley
By Harvey Byrne
Midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum admitted Sunday’s victory against Burnley was not Liverpool’s best match, but the three points is all that mattered.
The Reds had to battle hard against Sean Dyche’s men at Anfield with goals from Wijnaldum and Emre Can on either side of half time needed to cancel out an early Ashley Barnes effort.
The Merseyside giants were considered strong favourites going into the match due to the Clarets poor away form which has seen them pick up just two points from 14 matches on the road.
But, the result could have been different because of Liverpool’s poor showing and Wijnaldum shared on his personal Twitter account after the match that it wasn’t one of their best displays.

They have also moved within a point of third placed Manchester City who they will face next at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Liverpool will be keen to continue their two-match winning run against Pep Guardiola’s side as they aim to finish in the top four with 10 matches of the season left.
