Leeds fans on Twitter have lambasted the decision to sign midfielder Ouasim Bouy and immediately send him out on loan to Spanish second tier club Cultural Leonesa.

The Yorkshire giants announced via both their official website and Twitter account that the 24-year-old had joined on a free transfer, agreeing a four-year deal at Elland Road.

However, he will spend the 2017-18 campaign on loan in Spain with the Whites boasting each  of Vurnon Anita, Liam Bridcutt, Mateusz Klich, Eunan O’Kane, Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips in their midfield ranks.

But, alongside his more natural midfield role, Bouy can also cover the centre-back position and that has caused some concern for the Leeds fan base with just Pontus Jansson, Liam Cooper ad Matthew Pennington in the squad.

Star Jansson is also suspended from the season opener against Bolton on Sunday and the Yorkshire giants have called for the team to strengthen their own team first before handing out players to others after the signing of Bouy.

Bouy’s career has seen him play around most of Europe with the likes of Juventus, Hamburg and Panathinaikos on his CV.

He has also been capped by Holland at Under-19 and 17s level and he will be hoping to impress in Spain before joining up with Leeds permanently next summer.
