Glenn Hoddle believes Tottenham should sell attacking duo Moussa Sissoko and Vincent Janssen for £50million which would give them the chance to go to the next level.
The White Hart Lane legend believes money generated from the sales of those two individuals would give Spurs the opportunity to “add” to their squad.
At this moment in time, Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to close the seven-point gap on leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table.
It is highly unlikely that Spurs will catch their opponents this term but this is what Hoddle believes the club should do in the summer.
“I just think £50million for Sissoko and Janssen, what could you do with that sort of money,” Hoddle queried on BT Sports Premier League Tonight show. “Add to that squad. [to improve]”
Both Sissoko and Janssen were big money transfers from Newcastle and AZ Alkmaar respectively in the summer.
However, despite their big price tags the duo have failed to live up to expectations as they have struggled for form and consistency throughout the campaign.
Versatile attacker Sissoko has failed to find the back of the net since Spurs paid £30million for his services, while striker Janssen has not scored from open play in the league.
This has resulted in them going in and out of the team and failing to secure a regular place in Pochettino’s side.
Dutchman Janssen started the club’s 4-0 win against Watford last Saturday but he missed a number of clear-cut chances in the first half before he was substituted for Harry Kane on the hour mark.
