Aston Villa’s new signing Pierluigi Gollini enjoyed his first moments with the club after signing from Hellas Verona on Friday on a four-year deal.

The club’s official website confirmed their second capture of the summer after signing Tommy Elphick from Bournemouth for a fee of £3 million.

The goalkeeper was pictured enjoying himself as he joined up with his new teammates and manager in Austria for pre-season training ahead of the forthcoming Championship campaign.

Villa’s official Twitter account provided images of the youngster training in the sun with a smile on his face as he begins a new chapter at Villa Park.

The Italy under-20 international will now compete for the number 1 jersey with Brad Guzan and Mark Bunn, both of whom struggled to cement a regular spot last season as they conceded 76 goals in a wretched campaign which led to the clubs relegation to the second tier.
