Graham Roberts delivers brilliant Arsenal putdown ahead of Tottenham clash

By Harvey Byrne

Tottenham great Graham Roberts has delivered a brilliant putdown to Arsenal, stating no matter the result this weekend Spurs will still be above their rivals.

The two north London giants have often rivalled each other in the league with the Gunners usually coming out on top.

This has brought the Arsenal fans creating the phrase ‘St. Totteringham’s Day,’ which occurs when it’s no longer mathematically possible for Tottenham to finish above their rivals.

The topic has become a theme for many a year now with Spurs last finishing above Arsenal all the way back in 1995.

However, with the 2016-17 Premier League campaign nearing it’s end Tottenham are sat four places and 14 points above Arsenal and many are confident Spurs can finally break the 22-year run.

This has all led to club favourite Roberts putting on his personal Twitter account on Friday afternoon that the nice thing about the upcoming weekend match is that win or lose, Spurs will still be ahead.

Tottenham will host Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon in the 4.30pm kick off and it will be the second time the two sides have met each other this campaign following November’s 1-1 draw at the Emirates.

Both teams will be eager to win all three points this time around with Spurs still competing for the Premier League title, while Arsene Wenger’s side fight for a place back in the top four.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs fans have reacted with worry to midfielder Mousa Dembele’s injury update.
