'Great addition' - Exclusive: Ex-Spur left raving as 'Wonderful' Tottenham news confirmed
Michael Brown has been left raving after Jose Mourinho revealed Ledley King would be joining the backroom staff at Tottenham.
The former Spurs midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists it will be a “wonderful” experience for the ex-centre back and that he has a lot to offer as a coach.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Mourinho confirmed that King is set to replace assistant coach and technical analyst Ricardo Formosinho this summer.
The Portuguese boss revealed last week that his fellow countryman is set to pursue a career as a head coach.
Brown believes King will be a valuable addition to the backroom staff in north London and that he will immediately demand respect from the players at Spurs after his time at the club.
Brown told Football Insider: “Ledley is a great guy, a great player, he’s been a good ambassador doing everything for the football club and rightly so.

“He would offer huge experience but it would be a learning curve for Ledley, you don’t just slot in but you’re learning from the best in Mourinho.
“It would be a wonderful opportunity and what Ledley does straight away, he gets respect from all the players there straight away. Defensively as well, if he can find a way of expressing that sort of experience then he’d be a great addition.”
Mourinho told Sky Sports: “I don’t think the club will be upset with me by making it official. We are going to replace Ricardo with Ledley King.
“I met him. I worked quite close with him in this period. I know what he can give. I know what he has to learn and he’s very happy to do it.”
