Griffiths tipped to sign for Celtic rivals after manager reveal - Scottish pundit
Alan Hutton has tipped Leigh Griffiths to join another Scottish Premiership side when he leaves Celtic this month.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 31-year-old’s domestic record would convince one of the Hoops’ rivals to take a “risk” on his signing.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Monday (17 January), Ange Postecoglou confirmed Griffiths’ Celtic career is over and he is set to leave Parkhead.
The 22-cap hitman is currently on loan at Dundee.
Hutton suggested there would be numerous teams in the running for his capture.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “There will be teams out there who will really want to sign him when he’s let go by Celtic. I’ve got no doubt about that.

“It’s a difficult one. Ultimately, I think he has to go somewhere where he is going to play. With somebody who’s going to put an arm around him.
“Somewhere where he’s going to be the main man, he’s going to be the striker, he can work back to fitness and get back to scoring goals. That is the goal for him.
“Because of the last few seasons that he’s had, are people abroad going to be willing to take that chance on him? I’m not so sure.
“In Scotland, people know his ability, know what he’s capable of. They’ll probably be willing to take that risk on him.
“If you can get him fit, he is always going to score goals. I do believe there will be a team in the league that will take him for that reason.”
Dundee boss James McPake admitted he would weigh up a possible permanent deal for Griffiths.
The striker has scored twice in 14 league games for the Dark Blues.
