'Ignorant English footy fans' - Celtic fans react as mainstay is reportedly wanted by PL club

Celtic fans have reacted with hilarity after Hoops star Kieran Tierney was linked with a move to Premier League club Bournemouth.

The 20-year-old is wanted by the side currently 12th in the Premier League according to a report by Sky Sports, who claim that he is their “top left-back target” this summer.

This report hasn’t impressed Hoops fans who have expressed incredulity that one of the best young prospects in British football would move to a midtable Premier League.

One fan went as far as to claim that the move is “never gonna happen”.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to the news that Tierney is wanted by the Cherries:

Tierney has been a huge success since making his breakthrough for the Hoops in 2015. So good have been his performances that he recently was named as Scotland’s young player of the year for the third season in a row, the first time this has ever happened.

He has been a mainstay for the Hoops this season, making 52 appearances, and has been constantly excellent for the Bhoys.

The player has a very bright future ahead of him, and has already captain both the Hoops and Scotland, and he seems the natural successor to Scott Brown in both positions.

With all due respect to Bournemouth, the left-back can do far better and when he eventually leaves the Hoops it will be to join one of the bigger clubs in England.
