Harvey Elliott 'will get found out' at Liverpool after what pundit has spotted

Frank McAvennie has insisted Harvey Elliott is “not ready” to play for Liverpool every week.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker suggested that Elliott will get “found out” and claimed the amount he is playing shows Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have the “ammunition” he needs in the squad.

The 19-year-old has already made 20 appearances for the Reds this season, compared with just 13 across all competitions for the whole of the 2021-22 campaign.

Speaking to the Guardian (5 November), the midfielder said it is a “one in a million dream” to get the chance to play for his childhood club.

Elliott said there is “no point” feeling the pressure over his side’s poor start to the season and insisted he is “the happiest kid in the world” to put on a Liverpool shirt and play.

But, McAvennie insisted England under-21 international should not be playing as much as he is.

Elliott is not ready,” he told Football Insider.

He is not ready to play for Liverpool every week. He is a good player but when you are coming up against top players, he will get found out and it could burn him out.

It just shows you Klopp has not got the ammunition that he needs. I do not think he wants to play Elliott every week. I like him and he is a homegrown player, the fans love him, the manager loves him but I do not think he is ready.
