He must start: Liverpool fans demand recall for attacker v Man City
By Dominic Toner
Liverpool supporters have rallied behind Daniel Sturridge on Twitter and believe he should be recalled to the starting XI against Manchester City on Saturday.
The Reds completed a comfortable 4-1 home victory against Stoke on Tuesday and Sturridge came off the bench to score his first Premier League goal of the season.
Jurgen Klopp’s were in control of the match against Stoke as Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and a Giannelli Imbula own goal cancelled out a Jon Walters opener.
Sturridge capitalised on a poor back pass from Ryan Shawcross and his quick thinking earned him a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, in which he skilfully went around Lee Grant and tapped into an empty net.
The 27-year-old is currently behind the likes of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Divock Origi in the pecking order as he is yet to find his best form this season.

Liverpool face a huge match against Man City in their next game as they host third-placed in the league.
The Reds are second in the Premier League and are six points behind leaders Chelea, meaning they can’t afford to slip up against Man City.
Sturridge finally ended his league drought and scored in his 11th game of the season, but did notch four times in two EFL appearances.
The England international will be desperate to force his way back into the starting XI and play a big part in the club’s season.
He has shown that he has the quality in front of goal and has now scored 59 goals in 104 appearances for Liverpool.
In other Liverpool news, a Sky Sports pundit claims that this player is on par with Sergio Aguero.
