BBC: This is what Heckingbottom had to say about suspended Leeds star Samu Saiz
Paul Heckingbottom is very aware of the capabilities of one of his new Leeds players.
He was Barnsley manager when Leeds cruised to a 2-0 win in the Championship back in November.
Samu Saiz opened the scoring as he enjoyed a fast start to his Leeds career.
And Heckingbottom was full of praise for the attacker after the game in an interview with the BBC.
“He (Saiz) is a good player isn’t he?” Heckingbottom said.
“Nine times out of 10 if you ask Joe where he’s going to be then he’d be there (marking the Leeds man) but then Saiz is just going to stand somewhere else.
“The ball into him for the goal was first class and that was the difference. Leeds showed that they have got some quality players today.”
Saiz has contributed a lot to the Leeds campaign with five goals and five assists in 22 games.
But he let his teammates down with a spitting incident in the FA Cup game against Newport where he picked up a six-game suspension.
And Heckingbottom is going to have to wait to unleash the pint-sized attacker in the Championship as he has still got two games of the suspension to go.
His side has lost three and drawn one of the games that he’s missed through suspension so far.
