Alan Hutton has hailed new Celtic signing Greg Taylor and backed him to easily nail down a regular starting place.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Russell Edge, the ex-Rangers and Scotland full-back revealed he is a big admirer of the 21-year-old after watching him closely at Kilmarnock.
Hutton is convinced Taylor is the real deal and will soon usurp Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo as the first choice left-back at Celtic.
Taylor is still waiting for his Celtic debut but was an unused substitute in last weekend’s 3-1 SPL win at Kilmarnock and may get his chance in the Scottish League Cup tomorrow night.
“He’s an exciting signing,” Hutton told Football Insider. “I’ve seen him a lot at Kilmarnock, he’s one that’s really done well, he’s really blossomed as a player and Celtic see that.
“I think that’s the kind of player that they need, somebody with experience, been there, done it, played a lot of games at a young age and I
believe he’ll slot into the Celtic team with ease ,really.
“He’s probably a guy, it’s a bit unfair to say, because Tierney’s done so well, but he’s very much in that mould. I think it’s a good fit for them and it’s a good fit for him and I think he’ll do well.”
Taylor graduated from the Kilmarnock youth ranks to make 131 appearances for the club before his transfer and he has also been capped by Scotland.
Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo has made 14 appearances for Celtic since signing earlier in the summer.
