Alan Hutton has been left head over heels for Rangers winger Ryan Kent after his recent performances for Steven Gerrard’s side.

The former Gers defender and lifelong fan of the club, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that the fans at Ibrox are finally starting to see the attacker’s full potential.

The wide man missed a number of games through injury following his return to Glasgow this summer but has re-established himself as a mainstay in the starting XI.

Having seen the summer signing net a brace at the weekend against Hamilton and start Thursday’s clash with Feyenoord, Hutton says the Ibrox faithful are starting to see why the club splashed the cash on his capture.

Hutton told Football Insider: “He’s a nightmare for defenders. Watching him like this, this is why Rangers paid the big money for him because that’s what he’s got in his locker.

“It’s been difficult with his injury and I think just now he’s starting to get up to speed, running full speed going left and right, hitting shots, he really looks a livewire and is threatening every time he gets on the ball.

“It’s brilliant for Rangers to have him back in form for what is going to be a tough period. He’s peaking at the right time for me.”

Kent continued his impressive run of form in the 2-2 draw against Feyenoord on Thursday night, his most notable contribution an assist for Alfredo Morelos’ header.

The former Liverpool man now has a total of 51 appearances under his belt for the Light Blues, having played just once for the Reds’ first-team during his time at Anfield.
