Paul Robinson suggested Alfredo Morelos’s playing style would make him an instant hit at West Ham but suggested he will have even more attractive offers this summer.

The former England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed the Rangers forward may be lined up by the Hammers to partner Sebastien Haller in a new-look attack next season.

According to the Daily Mail, Rangers may be forced into selling their prized asset due to the financial implications of the Coronavirus pandemic and the Hammers are eyeing a move.

Morelos has scored 29 goals in all competitions this season despite a barren run of form that has only yielded one goal since the turn of the year.

When asked by Football Insider if the Colombian would be a welcome addition at the London stadium, Robinson said: “They would love him. The way that he plays. He plays with his heart on his sleeve. He puts in the hard yards as well as scoring goals.

“But West Ham cannot even think about signing him if they are in the Championship.

“I think Sebastien Haller started the season really well but I think he needs a strike partner and maybe that is why they are looking at Morelos.

“It will only be an attractive proposition for Morelos if they are in the Premier League. Even if they are in the Premier League I suspect he will have more attractive options than West Ham if he wants to leave Rangers.”

Sebastien Haller arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer for a club-record fee but, despite a promising start, has failed to meet expectations.

The French centre-forward scoring seven goals in 29 appearances prior to the suspension of fixtures.

In other West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that club do not plan to replace big name due to emergence of teenager.
