'He's the best signing Celtic can make' - Exclusive: Robinson reacts to major Lennon reveal
Paul Robinson has claimed Odsonne Edouard is “the best signing Celtic can make this summer” after Neil Lennon revealed talks are underway over a new deal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Spurs and Leeds United shot-stopper heaped praise on the 22-year-old and insisted he would be hugely missed were he to leave.
Neil Lennon yesterday confirmed that discussions had begun with the French striker’s representatives over a contract extension, with the club very keen to tie up a deal.
Edouard still has two years remaining on his contract in Glasgow having signed a four-year deal in 2018 when he joined on a permanent basis from Paris Saint-Germain.
In all competitions he scored 27 goals in 45 appearances and finished the top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership after the season was curtailed last month.
Robinson urged the league winners to use the curtailment of the season to their advantage.

“He has been phenomenal for them and he would be a huge miss if he goes,” he told Football Insider.
“There is not a lot of talk about him coming into the Premier League at the moment because there has been a lack of football.
“There is now a real opportunity for Celtic now because their season is finished and we are still some way off out transfer window opening. The can try and entice him into a new deal.

“Ultimately he’s a player we want around. He’s a fantastic player. He’s really blossomed over the last couple of seasons.”
