Danny Mills has claimed “unbelievable” Son Heung-Min can catapult Tottenham into the Champions League final.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England international claimed the South Korea international will be the player Ajax most fear ahead of the semi-final second leg on Wednesday night.
The Dutch side have a 1-0 advantage from the first leg in London, which Son missed due to a one-game suspension.
In the absence of top-scorer and England captain Harry Kane, Son has become Tottenham’s major goal threat and he has an impressive record in the competition after netting three times against Manchester City in the quarter-finals.
“Spurs have a good chance of going through,” Mills told Football Insider. “Son is huge. We saw what he did playing up front almost on his own against Manchester City.
“He has amazing work-rate and is happy to run all over the pitch. Most players like to have a one-on-one battle. Son goes left, right, runs in behind you, down the side and can go off either foot. He is also good in the air and over six feet.
“He is unpredictable, goes everywhere and also has incredible feet. He’s an unbelievable player, utterly relentless. Christian Eriksen also has fabulous delivery from set-pieces, so that can cause problems.
“I think they can overturn 1-0. Ajax may well dominate possession, but that may suit Tottenham.”
Son and Eriksen are set to line up in a Tottenham side that will be without a number of injured stars, including Kane, Harry Winks and Jan Vertonghen, for the clash against Ajax in Amsterdam.
The South Korean has scored 20 goals and supplied 10 assists from 46 matches in all competitions for Spurs this season.
