Benyu came up throught the ranks at Ipswich Town, starting off as an academy product before signing for the Hoops in June 2017.
Since his arrival at Celtic Park, Benyu has made four appearances, including two outings in the Champions League qualifiers, but will now have time to develop at Oldham until the end of the season.
Oldham currently sit 20th in the table, just above the relegation zone – and if Benyu is to gain some playing time this will be crucial to his development as a player.
Football Insider verdict
This short-term loan period is ideal for Kundai Benyu, he will have a chance to test himself in the tough League One division as Oldham struggle against relegation. He has showed signs of quality when he has played for the Hoops, and will be a good addition for Richie Wellen’s team. Aged only 20, the young midfielder has time on his side as he develops.
