'Huge' El Ghazi reveal could lead to Benitez-Moshiri rift at Everton - Mills
Danny Mills has claimed Farhad Moshiri is pushing for Everton to sign Anwar El Ghazi and Rafa Benitez does not want him.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England full-back, whose son Stan is currently starring for Everton’s Under-23s suggested there was a rift between Benitez and Moshiri.
Paul Joyce of the Times reported yesterday (12 January) El Ghazi’s agent Kia Joorabchian is using his close friendship with Moshiri to engineer a loan move.
The Dutch winger has not been a regular for Aston Villa this season under Dean Smith or Steven Gerrard.
“It’s a huge couple of months for Rafa Benitez,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“It’s strange that Moshiri seems to want to buy players that Benitez doesn’t. There seems to be a little bit of indifference between those two.

“You look at what happened previously between Benitez and Marcel Brands which led to Brands losing his job.
“There doesn’t seem to be synergy in the football club.
“The El Ghazi one was one Benitez doesn’t want but Moshiri knows he can get them. That’s huge.
“Benitez can’t come out and say too much about players from other clubs because it’s a delicate situation and we’re not going to hear much from Farhad Moshiri. The fans are like ‘What’s going on?’
“David Weir didn’t want to be there for whatever reason. Graham Sharp has come on as an advisor.
“If results don’t pick up over the next couple of months Benitez is going to come under a lot of pressure.”
