Kevin Campbell has hailed Adama Traore’s transformation and insisted it will be “huge” for Wolves if he signs a blockbuster new deal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs, the former Everton and Arsenal striker revealed he loves watching the explosive 24-year-old winger in action.
Traore is in advanced talks with Wolves over a new, four-year contract after reaching agreement in principle on a deal worth £100,000-a-week, around £21million in total.
This comes as the Midlands giants look to tie down one of their prize assets after losing Diogo Jota to Liverpool over the summer.
The former Barcelona and Villa man has added end product and greater potency to his explosive speed and extraordinary power to provide Wolves with an almost unstoppable force.
Asked by Football Insider how he views Traore amid new contract talks, Campbell said: “It would be huge for Wolves if Adama Traore signs a new deal.
“He is a different player to the one that arrived at Wolves. He has end product now and is a nightmare to stop.
“Why would he go somewhere else? Somewhere which is not a learning environment because he is improving under Nuno.
“It would be huge for both player and club if he signs a new contract.”
Traore has three years remaining on the contract he signed when joining from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018 for a then club-record fee of £18million.
He has yet to score or assist this season but his 98 appearances for Wolves have yielded seven goals and 15 assists.
